Мое Путешествие к Свету. Часть вторая. My Journey to The Light. Part Two
5 for we had all learned early in life, in doing so unexpected, unrecognizable and unprofitable responses were the norm. In other words, it served no purpose. It wasn’t long before I was playing football, baseball, basketball and many other competitive games with the new kids. My first summer, I even went out for the Little League Baseball team. In a few years I gravitated to football and later rodeo. In fact, these were really the only two sports I seriously applied myself to in high school. What has always remained a constant in my life is the burning desire to know truth. Even though I started playing sports – I was still me, the very young child seeking to know… And, “listening.” I was still “listening” and “Observing” the world around me as it unfolded. The desire “To Know” was in my “Nature”, that “Fire” still burning as strong, if not stronger today than ever before. There are so many memories I can bring to recall regarding these early years. I am sure I appeared different to most others and yet, simultaneously, I must have looked and walked like everyone else. Before long I could talk with understanding about the games I played and perform as well as most – I was becoming an athlete. I was always fast. For that matter, so were all of my siblings. We could all sprint. None of us were long distant runners. So many of the kids I was around were fast. So, when we had neighborhood or school races it was extremely competitive. I had many interests besides those I have already mentioned, such as working and training horses and dogs and of course people. I loved working cows with horses, gardening or growing anything, trout fishing mountain streams, etc. As is evident, most of the things I was drawn to were “Out in Nature.” I loved being out working with the land and animals and people. Yet, there was no place for me like the “Mountains.” At a young age I took every opportunity to hitch a ride with my friend Jeff’s mother when she was heading to the “High Country.” I felt the most comfortable and more in-tune with my True Self in the mountains. There was something about being in the “Wilderness”, away from all of MAN’S GARBAGE that was nourishing to my “Soul.” I really felt like I was closer to the Earth, felt Her much deeper and more connected to Her when I was “OUTSIDE MAN’S CONCRETE BOUNDARY.”
