Any impact, from chemotherapy to laser "burning", also leads to an increase in potentials for a living cell (manifested in high temperature, a decrease in the reaction time). It well can lead to the fact that NOT ONLY CANCER CELLS WILL GET AN ADDITIONAL STIMULUS for growth and fission, but a number of healthy cells, as well (due to a sharp change in their characteristics first, resulting from the action of drugs, for example, chemotherapy, and then – the response reactions of the organism under the Brain control) will be transferred into the category of waste and conventionally "bad" cells. Irradiation will lead to the same consequences, but a little on the other side. Under this kind of affect the damaged area is limited. For example, if a person has prostate cancer, the body fragment is irradiated in which the prostate is located. All cells – both prostates and neighbors – fall under irradiation, with the maximum damage being formed for the cells closest to the source of irradiation. All the stories that RADIATION AFFECTS ONLY AND EXCLUSIVELY THE AFFECTED AREA , come from the same series that legends about medications for headache, finding only cells (seats), causing a headache and affecting only them. One of the sparing modern methods of radiotherapy for prostate cancer is brachytherapy. It includes some measures that, in the opinion of doctors, will ensure the impact of "rays" only on the affected area.
