I began to go around the neighborhood knocking on doors and telling folks what I had been instructed to relay to them. This did not go well with my father. And, one can only imagine what these adults were saying about this small child. One day I ran into the house to share with my mother what I had received in my “Mind” and her reply was “Drehne, you cannot do this anymore. If you continue your father will have you admitted into the PSYCH WARD”. I was very young, 6-7 years old. I remember to this day how I felt and what went through me when I was denied the right to speak “Truth” for fear of isolating my parents from the world around them. It is not their fault, it is the world we “LIVE IN”, or perhaps I should say, “LIVED IN”. My mother was very understanding, though this is not the kind of activity a child should be engaged in. My mother was very familiar with certain gifts, as numerous family members were “Touched”, as they used to say. There was really nothing unusual about my activity, as far as my mother was concerned. It just did not fit into modern society’s NORM. I continued “Seeking”, yet, went within myself. No, I did not withdraw from life, that is not my “Nature”. It was my first experience realizing - “Watch What You Say”, including and especially to adults. It was an “Event” that helped shape me. What this did is give me a glimpse into the “ADULT WORLD”, causing me to ask more questions, such as “why are most adults “mentally” closed off”, etc.? I am thankful this experience DID NOT SHUT ME DOWN. To the contrary, it only inspired me more, albeit, a little bruised of heart. To be continued . . . Drehne Pearce 22 February, 2022
